The Original, Very Bland Raw File
Black and White Photography Workshop Example
Grey sky, no light, construction vehicles! Everything you do not wish for, but that is what my time constraints gave me.
The aim is always to capture the perfect image ‘in-camera’, but that is not always reality. Applying a structured workflow means we can rescue the less than ideal situations and make the ideal situations into really beautiful photographs.
My structured workflow will give your photography the foundation for quality, creativity, consistency, more productive and artistically unique. Personal style.

Why The Finished Photograph Works
Black and White Photography Workshop Example
Utilizing artistic and aesthetic principles evolved over hundreds of years by old master painters, gives us a framework for understanding how we can construct beautiful photographs if we apply their principles to our own photography,
The picture has one main hero; the island. The island has one main hero; the white house. The eye is drawn to the white house intentionally. The eye locks onto the bright, high contrast area of the spire. If the eye strays, the circular motion of the clouds lead the eye back to the island. Having only one bright area avoids any conflict or confusion. The house is the brightest house on the island, so the house we look at. Learning how to control the viewers eye is as essential as the camera skills to make good photographs.
