New: 50|50 Short Workshops
Taking You Beyond The Average Workshop
You learn photography on site and ‘InPerson’ then retouching at home and ‘OnLine’ with me, as a group of 4. What you learn is my complete structured workflow, the formula for how I create all my images. This will take you way beyond the average workshop because I teach you the ‘blueprint’ that makes my award-winning creative landscape photography. ~ Along with all the essential retouching steps and techniques required using Photoshop or Affinity software.
50% Photography On Location ~ InPerson
We cover both sides of the subject, first how to use the camera as a tool to capture the highest quality assets then the aesthetics of image making; composition, three-dimensional form, spatial distance, light and mood. How to see good pictures. How to plan then capture assets that align in retouching, explaining the benefits of this technique along with the all-important camera response curve. Its effect and how we use it to create rich shadows with tonal depth.
50% Retouching At Home ~ OnLine
Retouching is divided into file preparation, sharpening, and aligning then blending to composite the perfect raw file. Followed by the techniques to create the technically perfect image with an optical illusion of light, form, texture and depth, Last of all, the final artistic techniques to enhance the light, mood and drama that turns the ordinary into a beautiful work of fine art photography. Retouching with Photoshop or Affinity depending on group consensus.
Covid Notice ~ Launch Delay
New workshop concept to be launched in Britain this Autumn 2020 and all over Europe in 2021 ~ Provided safe and practical to do so for all involved.
Please email me your expression of interest stating:
- The COUNTY you prefer the workshop is held e.g. Yorkshire, Suffolk, Devon, Oxfordshire etc.
- For Non-UK, the city you would like the workshop held e.g. Antwerp, Paris, Prague etc.
- Do you prefer to use Photoshop or Affinity software to learn retouching?
As I get enough people to sign-up in one area, or you can make up a group of 4 people, then those will be the first workshops I run ~ starting Autumn 2020 for Britain, 2021 for Europe.
An ‘expression of interest’ is NOT an agreement to attend a workshop nor any request for financial commitment ~ it just helps me identify the popular locations of interest so I can research, plan and then run the first workshops.

Benefits of 50|50 Short Workshops
Workshops brought to your local area saving you airfares and overnight hotel expenses. Your only cost is the workshop and local travel. You return home the same day. The retouching tuition is held in the comfort and convenience of your own home using Zoom video conferencing software, so no further expense is incurred. A great, cost effective way to learn my workflow that will improve your photography for minimal time and financial investment on your part.
Learn My Formula
My short workshops may cost more than competitors workshops, but what you are buying is my unique ‘blueprint’, my formula, the structured digital workflow I use to create the award-winning landscape photography you see. A ‘blueprint’ of condensed, quality knowledge that has taken twenty-years of trial and error to refine. If you like the style and quality of my work, the short workshops will teach you how I achieve it. An holistic approach from camera to print.
But Are They Too Short?
If you build a house, you need two elements. An architectural plan and practical skills to construct the house. The core principle of the short workshops is to teach you the ‘architectural plan’ to follow when making your photographs, my complete digital workflow. The first part of any house is having a plan and the short workshops have plenty of time to teach you that essential plan, along with all the major retouching steps you require to create the images.
