Prague Artistic Photography Workshop. 6th~12th April 2025.

Relax & Learn: 7 Days. 6 Nights ~ UK £2,200 Workshop Only.

Take Your Creativity Beyond The Camera.

Relax & Learn. Enjoy Prague: 6th~12th April 2025.

99% of all photography workshops follow the same predictable routine. – They take you to a photogenic location at sunrise and sunset. Everyone takes photographs and then has some image-editing sessions in Lightroom. You return home with literal-looking pictures. They teach you to be the same. To make literal-looking, generic pictures. They don’t teach you creativity, to be different. They don’t teach you knowledge that has a long-lasting impact on your photography, which will transform you into a good photographer. They just teach you ‘To take pictures’ – Not ‘How to create pictures’. – It’s a natural human desire to be creative and different. – My workshops fulfil this desire.

I do the complete opposite  – I teach you ‘How to create pictures’. – Artistic interpretations, not literal recordings. The knowledge and workflow for using your camera to explore the world as an artistic and creative tool. I remove the stress from learning, you gain the confidence to be different and unique, while discovering your own personal photographic style. You gain more creative satisfaction from your future photography because I teach you what other photography workshops don’t know. – I answer one simple question: How do you find, visualize, photograph, and transform an ordinary scene into a beautiful, artistic photograph that people respond to emotionally?

“Explore how to be creative shooting beautiful locations in Prague.”

Over the week, we slowly move through three phases, starting with the broadest knowledge first. – Understanding ‘How pictures work’ at a human nature level: ‘The Visual Principles’. – Next, ‘How you visualize what the scene could become after editing’. Not judging scenes based on what you see. – ‘How you reduce a scene down to elements, then photograph those elements correctly’. – Finally, the principles of ‘Transforming a picture in post-production’. Artistic knowledge to break free from being a prisoner of only making literal-looking, generic pictures.

The emphasis is on photography and ‘Picture-Making’ skills – not detailed post-production and Photoshop tuition. For the detailed ‘blow-by-blow’ Photoshop instruction, I offer one-to-one courses online or in-person. The priority is keeping the workshop a light and enjoyable experience in a beautiful place but educational and informative at the same time. Teaching you the fundamental principles behind artistic creativity, not being bogged down in the technical details. – To give you the artistic knowledge and workflow that will transform your photography forever.

I can’t give you a minute-by-minute workshop schedule like photo tours can. – My workshops are totally different. The workshop passes on my ‘Picture-Making’ knowledge and experience gained from over 40 years of working as a professional photographer. Learning is best achieved in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, being immersed in a subject with passion and enthusiasm. Through discussion around a table with a drink or on location taking a photograph, learning becomes fun. – A relaxed and enjoyable experience, but with profound, life-long rewards.

What’s in it for me? ~ “The creative knowledge to upgrade your Photography”.

Travel & Hotels.

Airport: Prague International Airport is called ‘Václav Havel Airport Prague’. Code: ‘PRG‘. The journey to Prague Old Town is 30 minutes by car, 14.5 km or 9 miles. The most convenient way is taking the Prague Airport Transport. – The ride to the city center of Prague costs 29 EUR or 730 CZK and takes 30 minutes.

Hotel & Daily Meetings: It is my plan to stay at the Imperial Hotel provided they have a vacancy when I book. This hotel will be the meeting point for the workshop and the location for daily discussions. I will confirm my hotel with you, once it has been booked. However, Prague has a whole range of hotels and an enormous choice. – For convenience it’s best to find one near The Old Town Hall and Market Square.

What To Bring: Your camera equipment and a tripod. A laptop with your image-editing software that you use. Notepad and pens for any note taking. Warm and waterproof clothing, and an umbrella. There will be times of standing around which gets very cold and possibly wet. – It’s important to keep your camera dry if it’s raining. A ‘Dry Bag’ from a camping store is perfect for putting over the camera while on the tripod.

General.

Payment: When I have the group of five confirmed, I then invoice those five for a non-refundable deposit of UK £1,000 and the workshop is confirmed as ‘happening’. I then book my hotel and flights.  The balance of UK £1,200 is due by 6th March 2025. One month before the workshop starts. If you need to cancel your place on the workshop, the deposit isn’t refunded, but, provided I can find a replacement participant, the balance of UK £1,200 is refunded. – If I cannot find a replacement, then no money is refunded. – You must make a claim on your personal insurance. I will give you any documentation needed to make a claim.

Insurance. I am not liable for any damages, loss, or injury to yourself, your belongings, or your equipment. You must have insurance to cover all eventualities, including those that mean you can’t arrive on time or at all. Also if the workshop does not happen or is late starting for reasons beyond my control or planning, e.g., due to an airport, airline, or transport strikes, disruption or unforeseen medical issues etc.

Not Included: Flights, hotel and meals. – The Price Covers The Workshop Only. Tuition by David Osborn.

Please email me at David@DavidOsbornPhotography.com to reserve your workshop place.
